ANGSHUBHA is one of the brilliant Tabla players of Calcutta, known for his distinctive style of Tabla playing.
ANGSHUBHA starts playing and learning Tabla since his childhood. He has his early training from late Ustad Keramatullaha Khan and Pandit Gobinda Bose.To his great advantage, ANGSHUBHA’s training comes under great maestro Padmabhusan Pandit Gyan Prakash Ghosh which continued for nearly fifteen years before his Guru left for heavenly abode. He also learnt MRIDANGAM, the popular KARNATIC Percussion instrument , from Vidwan Shree S. SEKHAR of Calcutta.
ANGSHUBHA has the privilege to accompany a number of great Indian Classical Musicians like Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta, Pandit V.Balsara, Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee, Pandit Nayan Ghosh, Ustad Iqbal Ahamed, Bidushi Purnima Chowdhuri, Shri Partho Sarothi, Smt Sipra Bose, Smt Subhra Guha, Shree Shashank(Flute), to say a few names. He has also played( duet) with Shree S.Sekhar in Mridangam in concerts. ANGSHUBHA participated both as a SOLOIST as well as an Accompanist in many famous music concerts like Sangeet Natak Academy (Bangalore),Kal-Ke-Kalakar(Mumbai),VishnuDigambarJayantiSangeet Samaroh(Delhi),State Music Academy(Government of West Bengal), Samrat Sangeet Sammelaan(Goa), Maihar Festival, Salt Lake Music Conference (Calcutta), Spic-Macay , Pracheen Kala Kendra(Chandigarh)etc.
ANGSHUBHA is a regular performer of All India Radio and Television(Calcutta). He is an empanelled Tabla Artiste of Indian Council For Cultural Relation (Ministry of External Affair, Government Of India) and toured South Koria in 1996. He has been working in Rabindra Bharati University since 1994 as a Guest Lecturer in Tabla. He was awarded ‘ TALMANI ‘from SUR-SINGER-SAMSAD, Mumbai.
ANGSHUBHA Has been touring abroad for the last twenty years. He has toured many countries in EUROPE like FRANCE, GERMANY, ITALY, AUSTRIA,SWITZERLAND,ENGLAND, for a number of times to participate in concerts. He has toured AUSTRALIA and BANGLADESH also. Angshubha has the privilege to participate in the C.D.Project “SANKA RAGMALA”a production of Pandit Ravi shankar where his students played his music. Besides performing, Angshubha teaches regularly and has few good students including students from abroad. He has a few CDs. He has worked in Bharatiya Vidhyay Bhavan, London, as a summer school Tabla Teacher in 2010,2011 and 2014. Angshubha has toured U.S.A extensively in the year 2013. In the year 2015 Angshubha toured Poland and Portugal along with Germany and Austria. In May -June, 2019, Angshubha toured Germany, Poland, Belgium, Portugal and Italy for Concerts and workshops.
ANGSHUBHA's melodious Tabla playing with full of rich tonal quality captivated the hearts of music lovers through his music which flows through his hands.
